Frequently Asked Questions

What skill levels do you cater to in your training sessions?

We offer training sessions for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. We have programs such as positional clinics for beginners, to the Summer Skills School for intermediate and advanced players, and specialized clinics focusing on serving and blocking techniques.

What is the duration of each training session?

Our training sessions typically last 1-1.5 hours. However, the duration of private lessons can be tailored to the individual's needs.

How early should I show up?

There is no need to show up too early for your lesson! 5 minutes is typically plenty as we oftentimes have a lesson finishing up right before you. Feel free to come on in, change into your shoes and grab a jump rope to warm up!

Can parents stay and watch?

Absolutely! Parents are more than welcome to stay and watch or go grab a coffee/soda and enjoy some “me time.”

How long does it take to get results?

It really depends on the athlete, their age and what we’re trying to change. We can get simple results with young athletes very quickly (such as overhand serving), because we aren’t trying to change years of habits. High school girls can take several sessions to make the smallest changes because they have to rewrite their brain and muscle memory!

How many sessions do you recommend?

Once again, this really depends on the athlete and what we’re trying to change. We can confidently say you wont get great results in only one session because we need to really solidify the changes. At minimum, we recommend 2-3 sessions in a 2-3 week period and then about a month break to see if it sticks outside their lessons and in a team situation.

Do you offer training for specific positions in volleyball?

Yes, we offer positional training for backrow (libero/ds), setters, pin hitters, and middle hitters. We can also tailor private lessons for ever position.

How can I determine my athlete's skill level?

The athlete's skill level is typically determined by factors such as their years of experience, level of competition, mastery of specific skills, and overall understanding of the game. There will be athletes who are new to the game at a later age or athletes who have more experience and should be placed higher. A great starting place is:
beginner - 6th grade & under/u12 in club volleyball
intermediate - 7th & 8th grade/U14 in club volleyball
advanced - 9th-12th grade/U16 or U18 in club volleyball
Typically your player will have a good idea of where they should be, however if you're unsure, please send us a message with their experience and the teams they’ve played on, and we can help you determine where they fit.

My athlete is advanced in some skills but intermediate in others. Which training should they attend?

This is a common scenario and most athletes have a range within their skill level. Depending on the situation, we may suggest the athlete attend advanced training for the skills they excel in and intermediate training for the other skills. In our private lessons, we can also tailor the training to suit the specific needs and skill levels of the athlete.

Does the athlete need to be part of a club to join the training sessions or are you associated with a specific club?

No, the athlete doesn't need to be part of a specific club or school to join our training sessions and we are not affiliated with a specific club or program. We welcome all athletes who are passionate about volleyball and are looking to improve their skills.

Can you help my athlete get placed on a club team or recruited for college?

While we are primarily focused on skill development, we can provide advice and guidance about the process of club placement and college recruitment.

How does this actually work? How can I register for a private lesson/training session/clinic?

You can register for any of our sessions by going this page. Once you’ve registered, please make sure you fill out a waiver. Athletes should show up 5-10 minutes early to get inside, change into their shoes and start a warm up. We will send email and text confirmations and reminders, so please use an email and phone number you have access to.
